A Psychedelic End to 2019
2019 will remain one of the most paramount years in my adult life for one simple reason: Psychedelics. I have always liked mushrooms and LSD, tripping lightly here and there since I was in my late teens, but this was the year that I truly discovered the nature of this universal cosmic gift to mankind. Since the year was coming to an end, I figured why not go out with a psychedelic bang, so to speak and on December 29th, 2019 I ingested 3 grams of panaleous cyanescens (one of the most potent species of mushroom) and had an absolute blast.
I woke up early that morning ready to traverse the cosmic beyond and peer into the depths of my mind. At 7 am I took my mushrooms and optimistically awaited their arrival. I put on one of my favorite movies, Moana, during the come up and by the end of the movie, I was past the come up and into my trip. Usually, I like to put music on or watch something funny during my trip but this time, I was stuck on my bed watching my ceiling; it had become a movie theatre screen.
I sat there in awe at all the different shapes and colors being presented to me. I saw elephants dressed in Hindu ceremonial attire, monkey faces (which strangely reminded me of the Stone Ape Hypothesis), fractals, and just the most oddly shaped things. Although I had the overwhelming feeling of happiness, love, and contentedness as I watched my ceiling, I also reflected on the year that had just passed. I pondered on what macro and microdoses have done for me in just a short year, and I was overwhelmingly happy at the progress I had made at becoming the man I wanted to be. Some of these changes include increased empathy, productivity, higher levels of rapport especially with my students, losing 30 pounds and making exercise a priority in my everyday life, and better relationships with my family members.
I started using psychedelics with all of these intentions set in my mind, and I don't think I could have made the progress I made without having these intentions already set. No matter how much I age, no matter where I'm at in my life, 2019 will be always remembered in my mind as a colorful, psychedelic, life-changing year. Here's to making more progress in 2020.
The cosmic machine awaits us all...
